Humbled in Hollywood
Yesterday it was sunny, but I couldn't find my sunglasses when I went to buy coffee, so I walked up the street blinded, shading my watery eyes with my hand. A block away from the coffee place, I couldn't quite see but I could tell some other pedestrians were coming my way on the sidewalk. I quickly stepped to the side to make way, and I walked right into a telephone pole. I banged up my new glasses and my old forehead. Way to smooth!

If you had a sloping forehead like mine, those telephone poles just skim right by during people-avoiding behavior.
