Yesterday Amy and I went with Cleo to a visit to Willamette University, one of the schools she is considering for next year.
Amy (WU '81) and I (WU '82) had a good time. Cleo liked it. We saw old (and former) professors, new things on the campus -- and it was a sunny morning and very pleasant. Here Amy and Cleo stand by the Mill Stream:

How do they get the spiders at Willamette to do that---hang upside down to make the "W" shape?
Did you know that Chinese college students practice the ancient art of "Spider Stomping"? If they do it just right, the squished dead spider makes the shape of the Chinese ideograph that symbolizes their institution. And now, look...America owes China lots of money.
